The Outer Worlds | Tips

Here's some tips about playing outer worlds. If you have spent time with Fallout you'll feel right at home with this game.

Stealing...

You can sell things to vendors that you've stolen. Just be careful that you're not seen, being in a factions good graces doesn't make it any less illegal.

Skills...

Look under a skills description to see what stat bonuses a skill gives specifically. There is a respec machine on your ship so you can try some things out without worry.

Companions...

There are 6 total companions to unlock in Outer World's and they can do more than just help haul your loot. Each companion provides their own unique stat boost that gets applied to your character. Their armor bonuses, however, do not go toward your personal skill stat. It is wise to equip the gear that has highest armor to give them a bit more time before they get knocked out.

Armor Bonuses...

Your armor bonuses can get you over the hump of a skill check or help in other ways like stealth or conversation. Keep some gear that can affect your skills handy and equip it when you need it. Hold onto gear with mod slots to further mod your gear that offer bonuses to additional skills.

Repairs....

Break down gear and make sure you have enough parts before selling your loot. Your gear will need repairs during your journey and you'll want to keep it working in tip top shape.

Level 1...

Having 20 points in any skill unlocks the first level of additional bonuses. If you haven't, invest at into the Science, Dodge, and Leadership skills. Opening the ability to "tinker" with weapons, dash forward, and heal your companions will improve your ability in kicking marauder butt.

Inhaler...

This Medical Emergency Inhaler is a clutch item. It has four slots that you can put healing items into and when used each slot equipped is consumed. Upgrade your medical skill to open slots.

Night owl...

You can sneak around animals at night because many are asleep. Night travel could help you if you're having trouble with the wildlife during the day. Or just go rambo with a grenade launcher. ;)
