Notable April Game Releases (PC, PS4, Xbox, Switch)

With March almost wrapped up, its time to look forward into April game releases, even though I know many of you are either playing Animal Crossing or Doom right now. The seemingly endless quarantine can be depressing, mark your calendars with fresh entertainment featuring these coming soon games.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake - 04.03

CAPCOM | PC, PS4, XBO | Action, Horror

Just over a year after the release of the wildly successful Resident Evil 2: Remake, Capcom returns with a remake of RE3. Just like RE2, a demo is available following Jill and showcasing Raccoon City as it's falling apart from the zombie invasion.

HyperParasite - 4.03 (steam game fest plug)

Troglobytes Games | PC, PS4, XBO, Switch | Action, Roguelite, Indie

This game is rogue-lite twin-stick shooter/brawler where you collect and control 60 different characters as a body-snatching alien parasite with a grudge against humanity. It looks fun and was one of the featured games of the Steam Game Festival that is wrapping up March 23rd.

Fallout 76 - 4.07

Bethesda | PC | RPG, MMO

Fallout 76 is officially coming to Steam alongside the Wastelanders expansion that will bring a lot more life to West Virginia. This is the first major update to the game since its release and we can expect a large influx of players now that the game will be more accessible on the steam store.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake - 04.10

Square Enix | PS4 | Action. RPG

I probably don't need to write much here. Everyone cares even the slightest about Final Fantasy 7 has this pre-ordered. The demo a promising taste of what to expect, and we're all waiting to hear when the second episode is expected after this release. Enjoy!

Someday You'll Return - 04.14

CBE software | PC, PS4 and XBO later | First Person, Horror, Adventure

Where are you, Stela? Someday You’ll Return takes place in beautiful scenic areas of the Czech Republic. The game is a semi-open world with very clear landmarks so players can always orient themselves. The developers also implemented the famous Czech tourist navigation system dating back to the end of 19th century. The game looks absolutely gorgeous and exciting, featuring many different survival mechanics. There is no actual combat in this game so expect more of a puzzle\stealth adventure.

ITTA - 04.22

Glass Revolver | PC, Switch | Indie, Top Down, Bullet Hell

ITTA is a bullet-hell adventure set in a world filled with monstrous bosses. When Itta wakes up and finds herself surrounded by her dead family, her only guide is a strange spirit that takes the form of the family cat who gifts her a glowing revolver for protection. The game is featuring 18 bosses, and a ton of weapons to use. It appears the developers is aiming for over the top difficult battles because it has been said that a invincibility option is available in the game's menu if ITTA proves too difficult.

CloudPunk - 04.23

ION LANDS | PC, PS4 and XBO later | Indie, Adventure

Cloudpunk is a story base exploration game where you take control of Rania who works for a delivery service in a large futuristic city. In this cyber courier sim you'll be flying around in the delivery vehicle and moving around on foot as you interact with a greater story. The game reminds me somewhat of early GTAs but without all the gratuitous violence.

Trials of Mana - 04.24

Square Enix | PC, PS4, Switch | Action, RPG

Square released a remade version of Secret of Mana in 2018 and they are now giving us its sequel, Trails of Mana, which is also known as Seiken Densetsu 3. For fans, Seiken Densetsu 3 never quite made it to the U.S. back in the Super NES days, but was one of the best action rpg's at the time. Giving players the ability to choose their protagonist, a remade skills system, and allowing players to choose from light or dark classes, this game is more than just a straight remake from the original.

Gears Tactics - 04.28

Splash Damage | PC | RPG, Strategy

Gears of War is debuting a XCOM-like turn based strategy game that is only coming to PC. It is expected to be a available on the Xbox Game Pass day one of its release. Fight in squad based combat against the Locust Horde, battling towering enemies and grubs alike. The game looks great and is set 12 years before the first Gears of War.

Moving Out - 04.28

SMG Studio | PC, PS4, XBO, Switch | Action, Casual

Moving Out is a ridiculous physics-based moving simulator that brings new meaning to "couch co-op". In this game, you work with other players moving furniture around as you take on jobs from your company Smooth Moves. Its a physics based game in the same spirit as Totally Reliable Delivery Service, featuring silly gameplay that can be played split screen with up to four friends.

Minecraft Dungeons (possibly April)

Mojang | PC, PS4, XBO, Switch | Action, Adventure, RPG

It is unknown whether Minecraft Dungeons will be released in April but we are holding onto to the news that it is. This is a standalone game and is not an expansion to Minecraft itself. It features local and online coop in a classic dungeon crawling adventure. You view your character from an isometric point of view as you hack n slash enemies and it is depicted in the blocky style of Minecraft.
